Emily Irene VanCamp was originally looking to become a dancer but after a visit to her sister Katie's set in the Ladies Room, she became more inclined to act. While taking acting lessons and acting lessons, VanCamp was offered a guest spot on a show that aired in Canada. A few of the series she was a part of, among others were Are You Afraid of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp achieved a major breakthrough when he was cast in the WB horror/mystery television show Glory Days as Sam Dolan. Though the show garnered positive reviews, its low rating led to it being removed after only nine episodes. The May 12th, 1986 actress immediately secured a new role in Everwood. The character she plays Amy Abbott is one of the major characters. Her performance resulted in her being nominated for a Young Artist Award nominee and for four Teen Choice Awards.
